weekend stories part 7

conversation:
me: what are we doing tomorrow?
a: no idea man.
me: goin anywhere?? if so where?
a: see we can go to matheran... you have anything in mind?
me: yea i know we are planning to go to matheran for past 3 days... but are we really going? do we have a plan.
a: see the thing is na... we can goto matheran, my friends frns mumbai can also join us there...
me: so matheran it is...
a: hmm yea ... mostly... lets see.. where else can we go?
me: lets jus go to matheran man... it'll be nice
a: yea but... lets see... and u want to take our cars or hire one bigger car?
me: we'll take ours... but lets finalise first...

.... and it continued like this 5 times that day...

till around 11 in the night i still wasn't sure if we were going anywhere the next morn... the plan though after that was to leave in the morn for matheran... all night i still wasn't sure... enough of banter about the indecisive nature of this friend of mine...
i am still surprised how... but he's been a part of 4 of my seven weekend stories... good stuff!!

and the story continues...

we leave for matheran.. not as planned last night... a lot later but yes we leave and are there well in time for lunch and accommodation hunting... how many of us is it.. well just 10.
For the uninitiated... matheran is a hill station close to mumbai(and pune). The uniqueness about this hill station lies in the fact that there are no vehicles up there, no vehicles are allowed in the township. A big parking lot awaits you after a steep climb(which was AWESOME fun driving)... rather a big space with trees and stones awaits you... beyond which vehicles are not allowed. From here on you either trek or ride a horse... within the settlement there are hand drawn carts as well. A hill station developed solely as a tourist attraction.
So we trekked from there... up till matheran...
In a group of 10 people before you know the trek is over... well not really... and after that we walked all over searching for a cheap and comfortable place to spend the night...
after a lot of walking and fooling around we settled with one.. nothing great about the place just that we were too tired to look for anything better... and most places were occupied to full capacity!

rest of the trip was more walks... shit games... sadistic games called chapati(save the story about that for later)... lotsa eating... chilling around having fun... talks about life... ghosts...

and right now i feel so incapable to write... its more of a permanent writes block for me... will leave with a pic... hope it summarizes some of it....
